Peddler’s Village welcomes spring with a weekend of family fun at the 41st Annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
No fruit announces spring like strawberries! Imagine an old-fashioned country fair featuring strawberries prepared in every way possible. As you stroll along the winding brick pathways lined with colorful tulips, taste plump strawberries dipped in chocolate, sip a refreshing strawberry smoothie, or watch strawberry fritters sizzle in an old fashioned iron kettle and then sink your teeth in the crispy, sweet pastry sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Follow the delicious aroma to the bakery where you’ll be tempted by cream topped strawberry shortcakes and freshly baked pastries, warm strawberry fritters, strawberry preserves, and pies overflowing with the luscious fruit. Pick up a few pints of the fresh berries and jars of chunky preserves to enjoy at home.
Between tasting the delightful treats, enjoy the all day live, family friendly entertainment, displays of unique handcrafted work and a children’s activity area.
Each afternoon at 3 o’clock, join the crowds that gather on the Main Green to cheer on favorite contestants in the Strawberry Pie Eating Contests. The winning pie eaters proudly display their blue ribbons for the cameras with whipped cream still clinging to their faces. What a perfect ending to a celebration of the strawberry and the best of Bucks County heritage!
